Saral paper is placed on the painting and the large sketch is flipped down.
The fish is traced and this "chalk" paper leaves an impression on the surface.
Now I have an outline to follow as I begin to block in the image with my sable brush.
This is your typical, fox hair, artist's brush.

This area is painted, nearly, to completion with this brush. Airbrush is to be added
to this creature, so I use a material called Frisket Paper. A large piece is placed over
the painting. This is a clear, adhesive plastic that adheres slightly to the surface. Next, an
exacto- knife is is used to cut around the fish. You can see the frisket being peeled off the fish.
Now the spray paint can only be applied to that area. The rest of the painting is
protected from over spray. Some touch up on the details and the piece is finished.
That's one ugly fish.
